Over 245 perfectly groomed kilometres of cross-country trails for different levels, groomed extra wide every day for both skating and classic, guarantee cross-country skiing pleasure at the highest level. On our extensive high plateau you can do your rounds in front of breathtaking mountain scenery. Whether you enjoy the view in a relaxed atmosphere or are on the hunt for your personal speed record, cross-country skiing in Seefeld is a unique experience.

The cross-country skiing network, which connects the five main towns in the region – Seefeld, Mösern, Leutasch, Reith and Scharnitz – bears the Tyrolean cross-country skiing seal of approval and not only impresses with guaranteed snow and an extensive cross-country skiing area, but also with special trails, such as night trails, a dog trail and a trail for cross-country sledding.

Die Kaiser-Max-Runde zählt zu den schönsten Loipen im Seefelder Loipennetz. Auf rund 9 Kilometern führt sie in sanften Wellen durch die verschneite Landschaft rund um das Seekirchl – vorbei an sonnigen Wiesen, stillen Wäldern und mit herrlichen Ausblicken auf die umliegenden Gipfel. Ob klassisch oder skating: Hier finden Langläufer ideale Bedingungen für ein genussvolles Naturerlebnis.

Cross-country skiing recommendations

A5 – Obern

Distance: approx. 5.3 km | Elevation gain: approx. 29 m | Difficulty: easy

The pleasant, family-friendly A5 Obern cross-country trail starts in Leutasch and leads through sunny forest and field sections with magnificent panoramic views of the Wetterstein and Mieminger mountains.
It is an ideal starting point for leisurely skiers and beginners to experience winter nature in a relaxed manner. The Mundestadl, located directly on the trail, is a great place to stop for refreshments.

A3 – Torfstich

Distance: approx. 1.8 km | Elevation gain: approx. 11 m | Difficulty: easy

The short, flat A3 Torfstich course is located on the high plateau near Wildmoos and captivates with its peaceful atmosphere and unique character, reminiscent of Scandinavian moorlands.
Thanks to its altitude of around 1,300 metres, it is guaranteed to have snow. In the mornings and evenings, it is bathed in soft sunlight – perfect for a relaxing round surrounded by unspoilt nature.

B11 – Waldloipe

Distance: approx. 2.7 km | Elevation gain: approx. 51 m | Difficulty: medium

The B11 forest trail starts in the Ostbach district and leads through idyllic forest landscape with gentle inclines.
It crosses a hiking trail twice before gently leading back towards Alpenbad. This trail is particularly suitable for cross-country skiers with some experience who are looking for a quiet, nature-oriented circuit.

B5 – Katzenloch

Distance: approx. 5.0 km | Elevation gain: approx. 67 m | Difficulty: medium

The B5 Katzenloch trail runs from Mundeknie towards Ropferstub’m and connects with the A5 Obern and C10 Mundeknie trails.
It offers a varied route with moderate ascents and descents – ideal for trained amateur runners.
The cosy Ropferstub'm is recommended as a place to stop for refreshments, with its magnificent view of the Inn Valley.

C9 – Plaik

Distance: approx. 8.7 km | Elevation gain: approx. 169 m | Difficulty: difficult

The challenging C9 Plaik trail starts north of the village of Oberleutasch and leads across open fields, then through dense forests and up the ascent to Plaik.
Once at the top, you are rewarded with a wonderful view over the Leutasch Valley before a long descent takes you back across open meadows.
An ideal route for athletic cross-country skiers who appreciate both challenge and panoramic views.

C1 – WM-Loipe 2019

Distance: approx. 9.0 km | Elevation gain: approx. 260 m | Difficulty: difficult

The C1 World Cup Trail follows the original route of the 2019 Nordic World Ski Championships and starts at the Seekirchl in Seefeld.
The circuit leads through varied terrain with challenging climbs, fast descents and magnificent views of the Möserer Valley and the Kirchwald forest.
This route requires fitness, technique and endurance – a real challenge for ambitious cross-country skiers.

Leutasch snow farming trail

Distance: approx. 2.80 km | Elevation gain: approx. 20 m | Difficulty: easy

Thanks to innovative snow farming technology, cross-country skiing enthusiasts in Leutasch can already enjoy their first laps on real natural snow in autumn – long before the first snowfall. A real taste of winter – sustainable, innovative and typical of Seefeld: close to nature, sporty and with a lot of passion for Nordic sports.

The gently sloping, approximately 2.8-kilometre-long circuit runs along the picturesque Leutascher Ache river and offers ideal conditions for classic technique and skating. Perfectly groomed, sunny and with an impressive mountain panorama, the snow farming trail is the ideal place for your first training sessions or enjoyable gliding moments.

With cross-country skiing tickets for the Seefeld region, you can enjoy access to one of the most beautiful cross-country skiing areas in the Alps – with over 245 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails for classic and skating techniques. Many services are included: free use of the RegionBus and Wildmoosbus buses as well as ascents and descents on the Katzenkopf.
